Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas: Beach Edition!
Each day, we’ll have a simple, fun challenge for you to complete. The tasks are inspired by the classic “12 Days of Christmas” song, but with a beach twist. Complete each task with your family, friends, or even solo, and share your photos or experiences in the comments!
The 12 Days of Christmas: Beach Edition
Day 1: “A Partridge in a Pear Tree”
Find a seaweed “partridge” on the beach.
Bonus points for creativity in presenting your “partridge!”
Day 2: “Two Turtle Doves”
Find two seashells that match and arrange them like lovebirds on the sand.
If you find the perfect pair, post a picture!
Day 3: “Three French Hens”
Build a sandcastle with three towers, each decorated with a seashell for a “french hen.” (Bonus if you add a seagull as a mascot!)
Day 4: “Four Calling Birds”
Find four different types of birds on the beach. Can you identify them? Take a photo and share your birdwatching expertise!
Day 5: “Five Golden Rings”
Find five golden-colored objects on the beach. They don’t have to be real gold – just something that shines in the sun!
Day 6: “Six Geese a-Laying”
Find six different objects (could be seashells, rocks, or driftwood) and create a little “nest” out of them.
Take a photo of your masterpiece!
Day 7: “Seven Swans a-Swimming”
If you’re near water, see how many swans (or any other swimming birds) you can spot.
If not, make a drawing of swans in the sand.
Day 8: “Eight Maids a-Milking”
Go on a beach scavenger hunt for 8 things that could be used to “milk” a beach scene (like a seashell to scoop water or a stick to stir sand). Bonus if you create a mini “beach milkshake!”
Day 9: “Nine Ladies Dancing”
Do 9 beach dances on the sand. Interpretive, silly, or in sync – just get moving! If you’re with friends, do a little “beach ballet” and capture it on camera.
Day 10: “Ten Lords a-Leaping”
Take 10 big leaps in a row down the beach.
Video it for extra fun and share your giant air time with us!
Day 11: “Eleven Pipers Piping”
Find 11 interesting pieces of driftwood or any beach items and line them up like a parade. Take a photo of your “pipers” marching along the shoreline!
Day 12: “Twelve Drummers Drumming”
Find 12 different beach items that can make a sound. Rocks? Driftwood? Shells? Make your own beach band and post a video of your “beachy drumming ensemble.”
