Flotsam Friday: The Forgotten Beach Toy

Today I found a small plastic beach toy.

The kind a kid brings for one glorious day…
and then forgets when the ice cream truck appears. 🍦😏

It was half-buried, sun-faded, still holding on like it believed summer might come back for it any minute.

And for a second, I could hear it:
the echoes of little feet running, laughter bouncing off the dunes, that frantic joy kids bring like they’re personally hired by the universe to keep us from getting too serious.

🌊 Flotsam Wisdom

The beach is a time machine.

Every forgotten toy is proof that someone once had a perfect day here.
Even if they don’t remember the toy…
the beach remembers them.

And maybe that’s the point:

Joy doesn’t always leave a permanent mark…
but it still counts.

🏖️ Beach Tag:
If you ever had one perfect day at the shore… that’s wealth.

Flotsam question:
What was your favorite beach toy as a kid? Bucket and shovel? Boogie board? Nerf football? 🏖️
