Sonnet Sunday: The Elves Take a Beach Vacation

The toys have been crafted.
The sleigh has flown.
The lists have been checked (twice).
And at long last, the tiny legends of Christmas finally get a rest.

After working with almost magical speed for months, the elves pack their bags, trade their pointy boots for flip-flops, and head to their favorite stretch of sunlit shoreline.

What happens when the North Pole’s busiest beings try to relax?
Let’s find out…

🏖️ “Elves at Ease” – A Sonnet

The workshop’s hum has quieted to a sigh;
The hammers sleep, the paints are stored away.
Beneath a brighter, far more southern sky,
The elves slip off their boots for holiday.

No ticking clocks, no lists demanding more –
Just rolling waves that hush the season’s din.
Their shoulders loosen as they greet the shore,
And sun-warm breezes tousle winter skin.

They wade through foam with giggles soft and light,
Build sandcast spires shaped like Christmas towers;
They toast with drinks bedecked in fruit so bright,
And nap in hammocks swaying through the hours.

For even magic needs a gentle pause –
A beach vacation for the Christmas cause.
