To be thankful for the shore – what better gift?
Where waves roll in like whispers on the sand,
The breeze that cools, the sun that dares to lift
A heart to laughter, like a child’s hand.
I’m thankful for the shoreline’s endless grace,
The quiet moments, and the crashing tides.
For the way the beach can put me in my place,
While washing every worry from my sides.
Though turkey calls and cranberry pies gleam bright,
There’s something about beach food that feels right:
A hoagie, fresh and full of salt and zest,
A lobster roll – and yes, I’d take the rest.
I’m thankful, too, that whenever I may roam,
The shore is there – to call me back home.
