Don’t Leave Wildwood Before You…

Wildwood operates on its own laws of physics.

Time moves differently here.

Calories become theoretical.

Walking distances somehow triple.

And every time you say:

“Okay, one more thing…”

…three more things happen.

So before you leave Wildwood behind, brush funnel cake sugar off your shirt, and begin the slow migration back toward reality…

here are ten things you absolutely should do:

🌊 Don’t Leave Wildwood Before You…

10. Ride the tram car at least once

You cannot visit Wildwood and ignore one of the Shore’s great soundtracks:

“WATCH THE TRAM CAR, PLEASE!”

At this point it belongs in the Smithsonian.

9. Pick a side in the Mack’s vs. Sam’s pizza debate

This is not casual pizza consumption.

This is civic responsibility.

Choose carefully.

Friendships have survived this.

Barely.

8. Walk the entire boardwalk

Or at least confidently pretend you’re going to walk the entire boardwalk.

Two and a half miles sounds shorter when standing still.

7. Ride something at Morey’s Piers that briefly makes you question your decision-making

If you don’t yell:

“WHY DID I DO THIS?!”

at least once…

did you really go?

6. Play skeeball like your honor depends on it

For approximately six minutes you’ll transform into a highly competitive arcade athlete.

Embrace it.

5. Smell the boardwalk

No really.

Pause.

Take a breath.

Pizza.

Fries.

Fudge.

Saltwater taffy.

Ocean air.

It’s basically summer perfume.

4. Eat something deep fried

The specific item doesn’t matter.

At some point Wildwood simply hands you food and says:

“Trust me.”

3. Stay long enough for the neon lights

When the sun goes down Wildwood changes costumes.

Suddenly everything glows.

The old Doo-Wop motels light up.

And somehow the whole place feels like summer from another decade.

2. Walk onto that ridiculously wide beach

You’ll understand immediately.

“Wait…”

“We still have to walk farther?”

Yes.

Keep going.

You can do it.

1. Stand still for one minute and just absorb the chaos

Kids laughing.

Rides spinning.

Seagulls plotting.

Music playing.

People wandering.

Wildwood somehow turns all that noise into one giant memory.

Maybe that’s Wildwood’s secret…

It doesn’t ask you to slow down.

It asks you to jump in, hold on tight, and worry about catching your breath later. πŸŽ’πŸ•πŸš‹βœ¨
